You are in for a treat!!!
These are the BEST cookies.
They are sooo easy and turn out sooo pretty every single time I make them.
The odds are good people!
I’ve been making them since I was 12 years old.
They NEVER disappoint.
They melt in your mouth with a spot of Chamomile Tea.
To die for.
So make a double batch.
Gingersnap Cookies
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup shortening or cooking oil
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/4 cup sugar (for rolling balls in)
1. In a mixing bowl combine about 1/2 of the flour, the brown sugar, shortening, molasses, egg, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Beat with an electric mixer on medium to high speed till thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour.
2. Shape dough into 1-in balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or untill set and tops are crackled. Cool cookies on a wire rack. Makes about 48.
