Moist, Moist Chocolate Cake

This chocolate cake has been in my family for many, many years.  It is so easy and so good!

It can be made in a  9 x 13 inch Pyrex dish, but I like it best made in a jelly roll pan.  It’s my family’s favorite.


Moist, Moist Chocolate Cake

Melt and bring to boil:

1/2 cup Wesson Vegetable Oil

1 stick of butter

1 cup of water

Sift together:

4 Tablespoons cocoa

2 cups flour

1 3/4 cup sugar

Stir into the hot mixture.

Beat together and add:

2 eggs

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon soda

1 teaspoon vanilla

Bake 15-20 minutes @ 350°


Melt 1 cup butter

4 tablespoons cocoa

6 tablespoons milk

1 box (or 1 lb) powdered sugar, sifted

1 cup chopped nuts

Spread over cake after 10 minutes from removing from the oven.
