Captivating

Is it Friday yet?  I’ve had one of those weeks that NOTHING has gone right.  Everything I do does not turn out right and everything I touch, seems to fall apart.  Hmmm… you think someone is trying to tell me something?

I get sooo busy I forget about taking some quiet time and actually sitting STILL.  For me, sitting still means  NO COMPUTER, NOT thinking of my next project, NOT thinking about how I can rearrange the living room furniture, NOT making a grocery list or a to-do list… and it goes on… I have alot of stuff that goes through my mind people… it never stops!

I need to start practicing the art of sitting still and keeping my mind “still”.

Does anyone out there have problems with this?

Do you?

I want to HEAR FROM YOU!!!

I want to know that I’m not alone!

Here is my reminder:

Sitting still time = my quiet time with God.

It means I have to sit still

…and listen for his voice

…WITHOUT working on my grocery list or thinking about Pinterest.

I just started a bible study called “Captivating”.  A book written by John & Stasi Eldredge.

The message of captivating is this: Your heart matters more than anything else in all creation.  The desires you had as a little girl and the longings you still feel as a woman – they are telling you of the life God created you to live.  He offers to come now as the Hero of your story, to rescue your heart and release you to live as a fully alive and feminine woman.  A woman who is truly captivating.

As a little girl, I loved the stories of the white night rescuing the beautiful princess and sweeping her off to a land far, far away from evil where they would live happily ever after.

Bottom Line:

I need to go to God for this…

He’s waiting for me to want Him.

This is me, virtually every day! Yet my heart is so craving to be close to God. I have a “Prayer/Quiet Time” youtube playlist and I put it on yesterday morning-determined to spend time with God. It was AWESOME!! I would love to experience that every day. I find that I just have to almost force myself to do create time for it—and I know I will not be disappointed. It is crucial for our growing/strengthening during these days. Besides, my heart is crying out desperately to do it. I will pray for you as well as myself, that we will make it a priority. Blessings to you…..

  2. Oh my! God must really be screaming this message, since I heard it too. I was pondering this the other night, since I can not seem to crowd out the “project list” that is on a continuous loop in my head! My blog, Bleak 2 Unique started with the idea of taking the bleak (thrifty junk), and making it unique, but I started thinking about my bleak self and how God wants me to be uniquely His. (I’m sharing part of a post with you, cause’ it seems you heard the same message…) Isn’t it amazing that God misses us? I absolutely love that you shared with us…I’ll be posting my “Ah ha” moment soon….when I get off my knees. See you soon, Lori
